Here's the updated list of candidates in the Illinois 5th Congressional District race for the March 17, 2026 primary (and leading to the November 3 general election), nicely formatted in a table based on the latest available information from sources like Ballotpedia and recent news.

Note: Jonny Antonio Bishop has withdrawn from the Democratic primary (as of mid-January 2026), so he's no longer on the ballot. All Democratic challengers reside in Chicago. Republican candidates are also running in their primary.

Party Candidate Notes / Residence
Democratic Mike Quigley Incumbent U.S. Representative
Democratic Ellen Corley Lives in Chicago; progressive challenger focused on anti-corruption, justice reform
Democratic Matt Conroy (Matthew Conroy) Lives in Chicago; call him for outreach
Democratic Anthony Michael Tamez Lives in Chicago
Republican Barry Wicker
Republican Tommy Hanson (Tom Hanson)
Republican Kimball Ladien
Independent Steve Schwartzberg (No primary; appears on general ballot if qualified)

This reflects the current field after filings and withdrawals. The Democratic primary will decide who faces the Republican nominee (and any independents) in November. Let's keep building momentum for Ellen—strong debates and voter outreach ahead! 💪
